The Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Rural Strategy 2008-2012 represents the culmination of a collaborative effort by rural partners to create a relevant and action-focused form of strategic rural guidance. Through its action plan, the Rural Strategy allows for its recommendations to be transferred into positive outcomes whilst also driving local policy by linking directly into the most influential political processes.
BRAG, as the independent voice for rural communities, is committed to ensuring the ongoing delivery of the strategy, championing the rural agenda and lobbying for action where challenges and opportunities are apparent.
As BRAG continues to reinforce its role as the county's independent rural body, the Rural Strategy will act as the focus for the group's ambitions and help to translate the hopes and aspirations of our rural communities into a reality.
Indeed, the Strategy has acted as an essential document so far - providing an evidence base for lobbying and consultation exercises, whilst helping to stimulate new rural initiatives and projects.
